Industry Trend

According to a recent survey conducted by Meeting Professionals Institute Foundation in collaboration with George P. Johnson Company, tradeshows provide the greatest return-on-investment (ROI) and create opportune environments conducive to establishing and reinforcing relationships.

Most organizations utilize tradeshows to introduce new products, generate sales leads, enhance corporate image and visibility, prospect for new customers and establish or maintain a presence in the marketplace. In view of the fact that most companies recognize that participation in tradeshows significantly increases revenue, larger portions of marketing budgets are now designated for tradeshows, specifically 54% over last year.

Industry Tip

Sidle up to a Sale

"Sidle whenever possible when speaking with people to make them more comfortable with each other, themselves and their surroundings," says former Wall Street Journal reporter turned communications coach Kare Anderson.

People are more likely to agree with you and
listen to you if you stand or sit by their side after you shake their hands. Standing or sitting across another person conveys "opposition" or a "confrontation" while sidling brings people "in sync".

So next time when you are on the tradeshow floor with your prospects, stand by their side and bring yourself a step closer to sealing that deal.
